Bemidji is proving that they can become a force when they move to the WCHA, I haven't followed Air Force much since they left the CHA, but it almost looks like they walked into that weekend against Alabama-Huntsville, assuming they had the win. I think right now everyone is shocked at the early strength of all four CHA members. Sets up some good match ups as we continue down the road.

I have been impressed with the CHA's play early in the season. I think that the CHA showed Air Force a thing or two and big win by RMU beating UAA this past weekend. Going out in Style.

Kaufman recently re-signed with the Bakersfield Condors (ECHL). Berkstresser's ECHL rights are still held by Wheeling, but there's been no announcement of him signing yet.

Ryan Cruthers's ECHL rights were traded to the Mississippi Sea Wolves from the Utah Grizzlies, where he finished out the season.

Also, I saw recently that former Colonial Lance Smith (2 games as a freshman in 2004-2005) has signed with the Columbus Cottonmouths (SPHL), after he graduated from SUNY Potsdam.

Congratulations to the players for signing minor league contracts! It's too bad that the CHL team from Youngstown just folded after this past season. It would have been nice to see them play close to home. I guess I'll have to watch them online, when I'm not at an RMU Game, that is. Has there been any word about some of the others like, Sean Berkstresser, or Chris Kaufman signing anyhere?

In the latest newsletter from RMU Hockey there were 4 more signings to the minor leagues (CHL) from the graduating class of 2008.

Logan Bittle: Colorado Eagles

Jeff Gilbert: Loredo Bucks

Brett Hopfe: Loredo Bucks

Christian Boucher: Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees

I think it is awesome that so many players from a young college hockey program were signed to and have played in the minor league hockey system. I'm so happy and excited for these guys! I hope most of the graduated Colonials can make it back for the Alumni Game on Sept 13th!

I believe the NCAA Limit is 34 games which the Colonials have so they couldnt add more non conference games. That has been a major problem to all CHA/AHA teams-HOME games. RMU has done a good job of getting home games in the past and this season.

This schedule should lead to some heated games towards the end of the season with so many Conference games so close together. The coaches and referees better be on their toes. It's too bad we couldn't get more non-conference games on the schedule. I wish we could have more a more balanced schedule with close to even amounts of home and away games. It's a rough stretch November through January. Maybe I should sign up for a subscription to the B2 Network? I wonder if any of our games will be on TV, maybe the games against St Cloud State and/or Lake Superior State. I'm hoping to make some road trips, Niagra, the OH game in Cleveland and maybe others. I do realize it's more difficult to schedule having a conference comprised of only 4 teams. Here's to an exciting season... GO COLONIALS!

I made the change to it, there were a few errors in the copy I first got. I was told that the schedule on RMUcolonials.com is now correct (a few dates were wrong).
