Explanation on recent drop in coverage

I felt it would be appropriate to explain some reasons behind the recent drop in coverage here on the site, as the latest post before the Showcase game, was back in November.
As I have been running the site on my own for the last two years, I’ve been working on a freelance basis for work. That all changed in the middle of November as I started working more exclusively with my current employer before being hired full-time in December. On top of that, I moved from one side of Pittsburgh to the other, thus a few things were just getting in the way.
In working lots of late nights and weekends, I just didn’t have the time to cover the team over the last two months. I looked and sent out a few emails to try and find a temporary writer, or even some more people interested in writing, but I didn’t get a lot of follow up, nor did I have the time do work with someone on this site.
Even with my new full-time status at work, I am finding a balance that I hope will make it possible to continue to write and offer as much coverage of RMU Hockey for years to come.
Thanks for your patience and for staying true to Colonial Hockey!

A Note on the site change

For those of you who have found out where the site is at now, first off I’d like to apologize for the change.
I figured I could give a little reason as to why his occurred, and what we’ve missed in posting. The domain ownership of www.rmucentreice.com ran out a few weeks ago, and I was not properly notified by the domain service provider that I had purchased from originally. Once I noticed that the site had changed, it was too late, someone had already “squatted” on the domain, linking it to something about health and body stuff.
I was able to purchase www.rmucentreice.net from a different domain provider that I had already had better communication with, so we will not see this problem again. Hopefully in about a year, I will be able to buy back the old domain, and have both the .com and .net.
I’m not going to attempt to negotiate with this person squatting on my site, as they will most likely attempt to get me to pay more than what it is worth to get it back, I’d rather wait it out and if they choose to keep it, a year from now, I’m sure that everyone will know the new domain.
I’m extremely annoyed at this occurrence, because it seemed that people had really started to learn about the site and follow it, right at the start of the season.
I’m doing my best to get people updated and continue to get the word out, trying some new ways to spread the word too!
So Thanks for understanding and updating your links!
Partnership underway with Facoff-Factor.com

A new partnership has been reached between RMUCentreIce and the popular Faceoff-Factor.com. In their search to add more local coverage, specifically, the RMU NCAA D1 Men’s Hockey Team, I was contacted by Faceoff-Factor’s Matt Bodenschatz, through his connection with my fellow friend and Colonial Sports Writer, Andrew Chiappazzi (of Colonial’s Corner & the Beaver County Times).
Through our agreement with Faceoff-Factor, I will be writing a feature article that will appear on Faceoff-Factor.com, as an exclusive, covering topics of inside access. These articles will eventually make their way back here to RMUCentreIce. This exclusive coverage will include more in depth analysis of the team, from an individual player standpoint, more than on an individual game and season recap. The partnership with Faceoff-Factor will give hockey fans in Pittsburgh a more direct way to learn about the RMU Hockey program, if they don’t know much about the team already.
I am extremely excited to give another outlet to the Pittsburgh Hockey community to learn and grow with the RMU Hockey program, and an outlet for them to become followers of RMUCentreIce as well!
As articles are written, I will write a brief synopsis of what it is about and provide the link to where you can read it on their site!

Exclusive Interview with Chris Kontos & his revolutionary portable skate sharpener

I caught up with former NHL player (and Pittsburgh Penguin) Chris Kontos at the Island Sports Center, right before he was set to show the Pittsburgh Penguins Equipment Staff and Dana Heinze, his new revolutionary portable skate sharpener. The idea comes from his own playing days, missing a shift during games because you lose an edge, his new product “Edge Again” is design to allow an equipment manager to sharpen a player’s skate while on the bench.
Chris tells you more about it in this video:
